Here's an excellent Parsnip Pep power juicer machine recipe for your collection:

MAKES 2 SMALL GLASSES

  • 115g/4oz fennel
  • 200g/7oz parsnips
  • 1 apple
  • 1 pear
  • a small handful of flat leaf parsley
  • crushed ice

How to Prepare:

  1. Using a sharp knife, cut the fennel and parsnips into large similar-sized chunks. Quarter the apple and pear, carefully removing the core, if you like, then cut the quartred pieces in half.
  2. Push half the prepared fruit and vegetable through a juicer, then follow with the parsley and the remaining fruit and vegetables.
  3. Fill the glasses with ice and pour the juice over. Serve immediately.

Although parsnips yield a relatively amall amount of juice, the juicer produces an amazingly thick, sweet and creamy drink, perfect for adding body to any raw fruit and vegetable blend. Refreshing fennel, apple and pear are perfect foils for the intense sweetness of parsnip and together produce the most tantalizing power-pack of a fresh juice.

This is my favorite the power juicer machine recipe:

MAKES 1 LARGE OR 2 SMALL GLASSES

  • 1 celery stick
  • 300g/11oz carrots
  • 150g/5oz green grapes
  • several large sprigs of parsley
  • celery or carrot sticks, to serve

Here's how:

  1. Using a sharp knife, roughly chop the celery and carrots. Push half of the celery, carrots and grapes through a power juicer, then add the parsley sprigs. Add the remaining celery, carrots and grapes in the same way n ad juice until thoroughly combined.
  2. Pour into one or two glasses and serve with celery or carrot stirrers.

This juice is so packed with goodness, you can almost feel it cleansing and detoxifyng your body. As well as valuable vitamins, the carrots and grapes provide plenty of natural sweetness, which blends perfectly with the mild pepperiness of the celery and fresh scent of parsley. Drink this juice on aregular basis to give your system a thorough clean-out.

  • 125g/4 1/4 oz broccoli florets
  • 2 eating apples
  • 15ml/1 tbs lemom juice
  • ice cubes

How to prepare:

  1. Cut the broccoli florets into small piesces and chop the apples.
  2. Push both through a juicer and stir in the lemon juice. Serve in a tall glass plenty of ice.

Cook Tips:

Don't use the tough broccoli stalks in a power juicer machine as they provide little juice and don't have as good a flavour as the delicate florets. Broccoli is packed  with antiviral and antibacterial nutrients and contains almos as much calcium as milk. It is also thought to prevent some cancers, so tis juice is definitely worth drinking for its heallth benefits as well as its wonderful flavour.

Wheatgrass has many nutritional benefits. It is a concentrated source of chlorohyll, an energy booster, and aslo provides enzymes, vitamins and minerals. It has a distinctive flavour, so in this power juice recipe it is blended with mild cabbage, but it is just as tasty combined with other vegetables.

 

MAKES 1 SMALL GLASS

 

  • 50g/2oz white cabbage
  • 90g/31/2oz wheatgrass

 

How to prepare:

 

  1. Using a small, sharp knife, roughly shred the cabbage.
  2. Push through a juicer with the wheatgrass. Pour the juice into a small glass and serve immediately.
